So as I was reading loads of stuff on the ether – and there is loads out there…the amount of junk people post (irony alert in case you missed it)… and I came across Russell Blake’s blog.
Now, I hadn’t heard of Russell Blake before, but the blog was interesting. Probably the first author blog I have come across that is low on self promotion. Russell wrote a post on selling loads of books and I devoured it thinking this is the Holy Grail. I was disappointed when I finished it. There was no holy grail, no magic tips, no Eureka moments, in that post.
Hours later, as the day job began, Blake’s post came back to me. Now I am a pretty driven person in most aspects of life and whenever I had to motivate myself or anyone else, I had a simple mantra. Success comes easily when you work hard at it.
And I realized that was pretty much what Blake had said in his post. But he put it better than I did and also broke down to actionable points.
You know what Kung Fu Panda’s dad tells him at the end in that movie?
There is no secret ingredient.
He was wrong. There is one. It’s called hard work.
