More ChaiTime – Interview Continued

Contact me

I interviewed ChaiTime, The Warrior’s first reviewer, earlier and this is a continuation of that interview. Check out CT’s blog, http://chaitime212.blogspot.co.uk/,

How many hours do you read in a week? Do you read on paper or on devices?

I try to read about 10-12 hours/week at least, though this fluctuates based on how busy I am. I am a pretty fast reader though, so that’s enough time to finish quite a few books!

As a book reviewer, do you read the book in one go and then make notes, or do you make notes as you read?

I tend to read the book in one go, and may make a few notes here and there, but most of my notes are done after I am finished. As much as possible, I want to finish the book in one sitting or two, because I feel it disrupts the flow of the story for me to pause and take notes. What’s nice with e-books though, is that I can highlight parts of the book that I want to come back to. So while reading, I highlight quotes I like, important plot points of the story, and also typos or other things I think need to be improved upon.

How many paper books do you carry with you on a vacation?

I used to carry 3-5  (long) paper books at least on vacation. Another reason I am so glad for my iPad, I can carry tons of books! Nothing beats the feeling of reading a paper book, but it unfortunately is not as convenient for me! I always love going to bookstores on my free days and curling up with a paper copy though, I will never tire of that.

If you had to read any one book to save someone’s life, which one would it be?

I’ll have to give the slightly boring answer of Harrison’s Manual of Internal Medicine. This is the specialty I am going into and this book is like our Bible!
